When it comes to Iowa, fly fishing may be one of the last things you think of. However, in the northeast corner of the state lies the Driftless region: A fly fishing mecca supported by spring fed streams and rivers, limestone bluffs, and healthy populations of trout, smallmouth bass, and other game fish. Enjoy our rafting trip down some remote Iowa waterways chasing fish on the fly!
Trek: A 30+ Mile Backpacking Journey
(Summer of 2020)
In the Driftless region of Iowa, one wilderness stands out from the rest: Yellow River State Forest. We decided to pack our bags and explore every mile of trail in one of Iowa’s biggest forests. Check out highlights of our 3 day trip full of breath taking views, canned chilli, and miles and miles of untouched forest.
Volga: 100 Miles by Kayak
(Fall of 2019)
In the spring of the year before, we thought of the idea to paddle the length of the entire Volga River. The next fall we made it happen. 3 rivers, 2 kayaks, and one goal: reach the Mississippi. Take a look at river wildlife, cold-weather camping, and steaming cheeseburgers along one of the most scenic waterways in the Driftless.
